The bin must contain metal only. Mixed loads — even a small amount of non-metal material — are reclassified as Mixed Waste and per-tonne billing applies.
Accepted:

- Non-ferrous metals — aluminum, copper, brass, bronze, stainless steel, lead, zinc
- Multiple metal types in the same bin — acceptable, sorted at the facility
- Light iron — appliances, shelving, metal furniture (without upholstery or cushions)
Not accepted:
- Any non-metal material — wood, drywall, plastic, insulation, rubber, fabric
- Appliances with remaining refrigerant (freon) — must be degassed first; call us
- Hazardous material — drums with residue, chemical containers, pressurized tanks
- Electronic waste — computers, monitors, circuit boards
