Mixed Waste Bin Rentals in Toronto, Mississauga & West GTA

Mixed waste is defined as household waste, construction or renovation debris. No hazardous waste is accepted (i.e., paint, oils, chemicals, solvents, asbestos, oil drums, oil tanks, gas tanks, toxins, explosives) as part of the mixed waste program. Below is a list of the most common items found in the mixed waste:

  • Shingles & Roofing Material
  • Construction Material (drywall, plaster, wood)
  • Construction / Demolition Waste
  • Yard Waste
  • Old Furniture & Appliances
  • Scrap Metal
  • General household Garbage
  • Rubbish Removal
  • Trash Bins
  • Junk

Most jobs don't produce just one type of waste - and most customers don't need a lesson in waste classification. Mixed waste bin rental is WastePro's most commonly booked service, and it's designed to be exactly as straightforward as it sounds: rent a bin, fill it with what you've got, we pick it up. Whether you're a homeowner clearing out a basement or a contractor wrapping up a multi-trade renovation, mixed waste bins are available in five sizes with flat rate or per-tonne pricing to match your job. No fuel surcharges within our service areas. No mystery fees on your invoice.

Mixed waste bin rental is WastePro's general construction, renovation, and cleanout disposal service - intended for loads that contain more than one type of material or that don't qualify for a dedicated heavy solid waste bin. Mixed waste is the most flexible and most widely used service WastePro offers, covering everything from a single bathroom gut-out to a full multi-trade commercial demolition. Bin sizes range from 5 to 40 yards, with flat rate pricing available on the 5, 14, and 20-yard bins and per-tonne pricing available across all five sizes. Your load is weighed at the dump station after pickup, and your final invoice reflects confirmed weight - whether you've chosen flat rate with a weight threshold or per-tonne billing with no threshold at all.

What Goes in a Mixed Waste Bin

Pricing - Flat Rate & Per Tonne

WastePro offers two billing methods for mixed waste - flat rate with a weight threshold included, or per-tonne billing based on confirmed weight after pickup. Both options cover delivery, pickup, and up to one week rental.

Flat Rate Pricing

Price locked at booking. Your load is weighed at the dump after pickup - if it comes in under the included weight threshold, you pay the flat rate and nothing more. If it exceeds the threshold, a per-tonne overage charge applies only to the weight above that amount. You'll hear from us before any overage is charged.

Bin SizeFlat RateIncluded WeightOverage
5-yard$340Up to 1 tonne$130/tonne above threshold
14-yard$390Up to 1.5 tonnes$130/tonne above threshold
20-yard$490Up to 2.5 tonnes$130/tonne above threshold
Flat rate is not available on the 30 and 40-yard bins - per-tonne billing only.

Per Tonne Pricing

Pay for exactly what you put in the bin - nothing more. The $220 base charge covers delivery, pickup, and the rental period. Your load is weighed at the dump after pickup and your final invoice is based on confirmed tonnage only. No thresholds, no overage risk.

Do You Need a Permit?

On private property - your driveway, lot, or job site: No permit required. Tell us where you want the bin placed and we'll handle the rest.

On a public street or city right-of-way: A permit from your municipality is required before the bin is placed. In Toronto, this is a Boulevard Bin permit through the city. In Mississauga, a Road Occupancy Permit is required. WastePro recommends confirming with your local municipality before placing a bin on a public road - requirements and timelines vary by city.

Frequently Asked Questions - Metal Bin Rentals

What's the difference between mixed waste and solid heavy waste? Solid heavy waste - concrete, asphalt, brick, gravel, dirt - is a dedicated service available in the 5 and 14-yard bins only, with its own flat rate pricing. Mixed waste covers everything else, or any load that combines solid heavy material with other renovation debris. If your load is primarily one solid material, a dedicated bin usually offers better pricing. If it's a combination, mixed waste is the right call.

Can I put renovation debris and junk together in the same bin? Yes - that's what mixed waste bins are for. Drywall, flooring, fixtures, furniture, appliances, and general junk can all go in together.

What if I'm not sure how heavy my load will be? Per-tonne billing is the right choice. You pay for confirmed weight after pickup - no threshold to worry about and no overage risk. If weight is predictable, flat rate is simpler. Still unsure? Call us and we'll help you decide.

What's the most popular bin size? The 14-yard. It handles the widest range of residential and contractor jobs - from a full kitchen renovation to a roofing tear-off to an estate cleanout. If you're not sure what size you need, start with the 14-yard.

How does the overage process work on flat rate bookings? Your load is weighed at the dump after pickup. If the weight exceeds the included threshold, we contact you directly with the confirmed weight and the overage amount before any additional charge is applied. You'll never find an unexpected charge on your invoice.

How long can I keep the bin? Up to one week. Extensions are available - call us at 647-477-0537 at least 48 hours before your scheduled pickup date.

Can I book multiple bins for a large job? Yes - we can coordinate multiple bins on the same site, running simultaneously or in sequence. This is common on larger contractor sites and commercial operations. Call us and we'll plan the right setup for your job.
